If the blue trend represents United States hyperinflation theories on steroids, then what might the red trend represent?
Perhaps the following musical tribute (complete with color coding) would convey my opinion?
Sure Thing!
Buy yuan, buy yuan, buy yuan
Buy yuan, buy yuan, buy yuan
Buy yuan, buy yuan, buy yuan
Buy yuan, buy yuan, buy yuan
Sure thing!
Yeah! Yeah!
Just buy yuan, buy yuan, buy yuan
Cash flow streams are swollen
Keep them yuan a comin', sure thing!
Through pain we spend and wither
Yuan's a bellwether
Wishin' you all would buy my lie
All the things you're missin'
Pollution, greed, and bankin'
Are waiting at the end of your ride
Move yuan out, send 'em up
Send 'em up, move yuan out
Move yuan out, send 'em up
Sure thing!
Bag 'em up, ship 'em out
Bring 'em in, bag 'em up
Bag 'em up, bring 'em in
Sure thing!
Yeah! Yeah!
Now sell yuan, sell yuan, sell yuan
They ain't disapearin'
Cash flow is reversin', sure thing!
Don't try to understand 'em
Just bag an' haul an' sell 'em
Soon you'll be buyin' double-wides
My chart's calculatin'
The true wealth will be waitin'
Be waitin' at the end of your ride
Move yuan in, send 'em down
Send 'em down, move yuan in
Move yuan in, send 'em down
Sure thing!
Bag 'em up, ship 'em in
Bring 'em out, bag 'em up
Bag 'em up, bring 'em out
Sure thing!
Yeah! Yeah!
Sure thing!
Yeah!
Sure thing!

Barron's: Yuan Plays Catch Up, Moves Lower; Don’t Be Alarmed
Investors should not be alarmed.
I'm not alarmed. If I ever feel the need to move to China, then I might finally have some haggling power with the Chinese border guard. And why might I feel the need? No frickin' idea!

St. Louis Fed: China / U.S. Foreign Exchange Rate
So that's what all the tea in China looks like.

Two months later, the "sure thing" parabolic trend in blue failed.
Hilarious!
Who Struck John,
ReplyDeleteAnd that's what all the WisdomTree in China looks like! ;)
Wisdom Tree strikes again! When Jeremy Siegel zigs, it's time to zag!
ReplyDeleteHow many people know the rest of the wrong-way Siegel story?
And how many know the story of Naugahyde?
From the movie "Vacation":
Is that real tomato ketchup, Clyde? Nothin but the best!

mab,
ReplyDeleteIn the field of science and technology Naugas have often labored in obscurity due to an unusual string of bad luck. Among the famous inventions of not-so-famous Nauga inventors are vending machines that accept bent and foreign coins, the rotary engine, and ambidextrous coffee cups.
Hahaha! :)
China is trying to lull us into a sense of security with yuan devaluation. Then, they will strike with a one-inch currency punch.
ReplyDeleteI've been trying to sleep on a cot one night a week to make my transition to a Foxconn factory less of a shock. At least I'll have good noodles. (I keed, I keed)

Bruce Lee Ping-Pong
Agency.Asia: Your work for Nokia is simply brilliant. The idea of Bruce Lee playing ping-pong with nunchaku ["nunchukkas"] is so fantastically comprehensible, yet so incredibly obscure.
If only Bruce Lee could have been involved in monetary policy. Just think of the things he could have accomplished!

That's a good plan. I've been working to replace my organic human tissue and organs. I know I will want to work faster than my coworkers, and I fear they may be fully mechanical. I figure cyborg technology should at least help level the playing field a bit, assuming I work smarter, lol. Sigh.
