I live in the USA and I am concerned about the future. I created this blog to share my thoughts on the economy and anything else that might catch my attention.

The Beatings Will Continue Until Morale Improves (Musical Tribute)
I feel the need to offer yet another stock market tribute. It got ugly out there today.
How ugly? Real ugly.
Watch at your own risk. It may permanently damage your musical taste buds.
I remember Backlund. I found him boring though. I always preferred more colorful wrestlers like Chief Jay Strongbow, Rick Rude, Randy the Macho Man Savage, Jesse the Body Ventura, etc.
I actually new a guy that was a professional wrestler. His wresting name was Gunner Garlitz. He was a big guy, but was basically paid to take a beating. He was one of the jamokes in a singlet that everyone knew was going to get totally abused. Jake the Snake Roberts did a number on him with his signature DDT move. The poor guy also broke his tail bone during a suplex against the British Bull Dogs.
When my wife and I were dating, I took her to a pro wrestling match at the Spectrum. It was just a goof (a few subway stops away on a Saturday night). She'll never let me live it down. Of course that pales in comparison to when we double dated with friends to see the movie Platoon on Valentines Day. I guess I'm just a hopeless romantic.
Mab, oh man you ar etaking me way back! I have to write my post and I do not want to hijack a thread.....but, I was a huge Jimmy Snuka fan as well as Rowdy Roddy Piper. I saw Big John Studd wrestle Andre the Giant when I was a kid and I thought nobody could be as big as those two guys! Oh the memories!

GYSC,
Superfly! They Live!
G.H.,
I had forgotten all about The Big Boss Man, lol.
One reason I like King Kong Bundy was because he alway demanded a five count from for his pins from the ref. They also said his back was so big you could show amovie on it.
Let me close by saying that pro wrestling is more real than are markets these days. It's also more real than a lot of our wealth too.

And do not delete this comment out of jealousy!
Stag,
ReplyDeleteIs it "know your damn role" or "know your damn roll".
It's hard to tell. He asks if we "can smell what the Rock is cooking" and also says "shut your damn mouth".
The Rock seems like a deep thinker so it could actually have a two meanings.
Also, any post with a song by the wrestler King Kong Bundy would be greatly appreciated.
Stag,
ReplyDeleteThe beatings will continue until morale improves
I'm thinking the financial beatings will CONtinue until morals improve.

Anyone remember "The Big Boss Man"?
ReplyDeleteHe wore a prison guard uniform in the ring and carried a night stick with him.
His favorite smack aimed at opponents was: "I'm going to love 'em with my stick!"
Roddy Piper for United States Secretary of Energy!
