Mound
A mound is a general term for an artificial heaped pile of earth, gravel, sand, rocks, or debris. The most common use is in reference to natural earthen formation such as hills and mountains, particularly if they appear artificial. The term may also be applied to any rounded area of topographically higher elevation on any surface. Artificial mounds have been created for a variety of reasons throughout history, including ceremonial (platform mound), burial (tumulus), and commemorative purposes (e.g. Kościuszko Mound).
What lies buried under this mound? The world must never know!

"largely reflect strong economic fundamentals, such as strong growth in jobs, incomes and the number of new households."
ReplyDeleteNew households are a fundamental strength of the economy?
I guess back in 2005, new arrivals in the job market were handed a ladder, hardhat, and a map where the money ripe for the picking.
Of course, jobs and incomes in 2005 were being powered by the $1,000/mo per household of debt take on going on in 3Q05 (which was peak CMDEBT debt take-on btw).
Like I like saying, I don't know which is worse, the system's PTB didn't know this debt dynamic was going on, or that they did and stood aside and let it happen anyway.
As for what's buried under that mound, that's easy to see.

$14T of consumer debt take-on.
In bundles of $100 bills, that would be enough to fill a column of dump trucks 50 miles long.

ReplyDeleteWow, when I read this, I swear I saw stimulus as that last word :).
Latest mound is bond prices.

Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteI think pretty much everything is offering return-free risk. Pick your poison! ;)
Tumulus Program
