Porcupine
Quills are released by contact with them, or they may drop out when the porcupine shakes its body, but cannot be projected at attackers. New quills grow to replace lost ones. From ancient times, it was believed that porcupines could throw their quills at an enemy, but this has long been refuted.

Young adults drop out of the job market
NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- The drop in the unemployment rate in August isn't particularly good news for the economy -- it's driven mostly by nearly 400,000 people dropping out of the labor force, rather than more people finding jobs.

My thought on looking at the Bush 43 and Obama horizontal "recoveries" was that the slope will probably be negative during the next "recovery"!
