The Onion: Metric System Thriving In Nation's Inner Cities
"The youths seem to have some large blind spots in their knowledge," Danielson said. "For example, they know millimeters very well and can distinguish between something that's 9mm wide and something 7.62mm wide, but for some reason, not one of the teens had ever heard of a hectare. Yikes, we're on the other side of candy mountain!
ReplyDeleteNo doubt it took a ten year moving average to smooth out that peak. I know (a) ledge when I see it.
I wonder what they call a "royal with cheese" in Japan?
ReplyDeleteOn the one hand, the smoothing sure took out that peak! Shame on me for shaving it off like that.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, the smoothing sure enhanced that parabola! And if there's one thing that says long-term sustainable growth, it's a parabola!
Fortunately, parabolas are quite rare in economics. I have to look at least 2-3 minutes to find one, lol. Sigh.
Got kidney?

Quotes: It's Personal
Tim: He's made this personal.
Mike: I thought he made it personal when he slept with your girlfriend.
Tim: Well, he's made it more personal.
Mike: I don't think it gets much more personal than sleeping with your girlfriend, Tim.
