What to Do If You Suspect a Coworker Is Struggling With Depression
Ask what their plans are for the weekend, or how they plan to spend an upcoming holiday.
This is is the perfect question to ask a coworker in the computer gaming industry, whose current project is way behind schedule.
Other good questions are:
1. Enjoying the merger much?
2. Been reading about our company's fraud on the front page of the Wall Street Journal this month?
3. Did you survive the last round of layoffs too? Disappointed?
4. Do you feel like a schmuck? You know, like our CEO?
November 9, 1998

But Silverman did not emerge unscathed either. His reputation as a genius dealmaker was shredded. And his reputation as a CEO who could deliver for Wall Street was also wrecked. "The premium success story of the 1990s was HFS," moans Silverman today. "We blew it up with this one transaction." Now, he tells friends, "I feel like a schmuck."
Memory lane. Been there, done that. Good times, lol. Sigh.
