I live in the USA and I am concerned about the future. I created this blog to share my thoughts on the economy and anything else that might catch my attention.

Soft Landing?
The following is a chart of QQQ using a log scale. I have added a long-term trend channel in red.
I enjoy looking at charts and making charts, especially economic ones involving trend failures. I think a chart’s often worth at least a thousand words. Unfortunately, a thousand words are often not worth very much at all. lol.

Here’s what we know with certainty. QQQ was growing exponentially at a fairly consistent pace for about 10 years. The trend failed to the upside recently. It’s now at serious risk of failing to the downside. These are facts.
Here’s an opinion. Get out the popcorn. Could easily be “buy one trend failure at the regular price and get a second one absolutely free.” And who doesn’t like free stuff? You know, like massive stimulus and ZIRP boosting this economy with no consequences at all. Totally free! Didn’t have to pay for any of it. *cringe*
I'm not a chartist by any means, but those last two quarters are ugly.
ReplyDeleteNot half so ugly as what next year will bring. This doesn't stop until the war ends, and neither side is likely to quit soon.
Fortunately we've been blessed with a good global harvest this year. Next year we might not be so lucky.
