I live in the USA and I am concerned about the future. I created this blog to share my thoughts on the economy and anything else that might catch my attention.
Looks to my squinting eye as if 2001 kicked off a new wave of folks trying too hard to forget their troubles. Let's see the dot.com bust, followed by the Bush "election" followed by 9/11, followed by war and more war. Some of the folks who were high on real estate also probably joined the club...and the unemployed,the underemployed and college grads carrying mega student loan debt. Or, it was Heisenberg's blue meth what done it.
Also, may I suggest another exponential trend failure for your consideration? Friend has inherited a paid off house in a nice Jersey suburb (Clifton). Built mid-50s, nice landscaping, less than 2k feet. Looking to sell...as the property taxes are 24k a year. Friend was thinking of Phoenix but canned that thought. Why? Resurgent house prices? Nope. Water. She had a chart with areas of the US where water availability is problematic now and likely to worsen. Ever thought of looking at water?

We've got a lot of 30-40 year known issues. I think the same could easily be said of this country's infrastructure in general. Sigh.
