The Onion: Word ‘Millennials’ Forced Into Headline To Boost Pageviews

At press time, Gein had managed to garner even more pageviews for the post by shrewdly squeezing the terms “controversial,” “viral,” and “you won’t believe” into the headline as well.

What? No list of 10 things to seal the deal?

Monday afternoon clickbait, baby. That's what I'm talking about. Hahaha! :)

  2. Rob Dawg,

    Hahaha!

In other news, just got a call from Cincinnati.

I was thinking of answering the phone on the off chance some of my friends moved there without telling me, but I decided instead to just close my eyes and think happy thoughts until the phone stopped ringing. No regrets so far, lol. Sigh.

    I STRONGLY DISLIKE THESE... TELEMARKETERS!!!

  3. I HAVE A NEW PHONE WITH A BLOCK BUTTON.

All caps because it actually works. An assymptotic decay in crap calls.

  4. Rob Dawg,

Yeah, big fan of the block feature on my mobile phone.

That said, got a call from "Unlnown" from an "unknown" number recently. Of all the numbers I'd love to block, that would be #1. Wouldn't let me though. Sigh.

Hey, at least they haven't continued to call me... yet.

  5. Five things we learned today.

    1 "Phenomena" is plural.
2 People who correct your grammar in dead languages are really annoying.
3 Who says it's dead, buster?
4 Well it's Ancient Greek, so it's dead as a dodo.
5 Come outside and say that you jerk.

    Et bloody cetera.

  6. dearieme,

I learned today that, at age 51, cleaning the gutters of my 2-story house is a real pain in the @$$.

I also learned any gutter cleaning I can walk away from is a good gutter cleaning. It was therefore a good gutter cleaning I guess. Whew! ;)

  7. If only I hadn't hired those workers to lay the new driveway extension. I'd have saved thousands of dollars and instead of lying here on my deathbed surrounded by my adult great grandchildren I'd have been dead for decades instead.

  8. Rob Dawg,

Yeah, that may have been the last time I clean my own gutters. It's not cheap to have someone else do it, but that will be little consolation in those last seconds as I'm falling to the ground.

I had no problem when I was 35. At 51, it isn't as easy. At 65, I'm guessing it could easily be a morgue event.

  9. It's so hard to keep track of all this. I think we need a new cabinet level position or czar. Maybe a minister of false news. Or a commissioner of disinformation to coordinate all the bullsh%t.

Or maybe we already have one?

  10. mab,

I think we could use another even if we already have one! DoRPD!

A Department of Redundant Propaganda Department (DoRPD)!

DoRPD! You and us going to the places we say we're going, together! And if you know what we say is good for you, no questions asked!!
