U-192

German submarine U-192

During her maiden voyage in May 1943 she disappeared without a trace, along with her 55 crew.

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change? - Oddball

Passenger traffic fairly flat at Port Columbus last month

There were 501,354 passengers in and out of the local airport, an increase of 192, which is less than one-tenth of 1 percent.

For the year so far, the number of passengers is down 3 percent at Port Columbus, a trend that has been noted at airports across the country.

Shouldn't have gone down the negative waves path. Should have said something righteous and hopeful for a change. Perhaps it is not too late.

These 192 extra people will no doubt lead to all sorts of exciting extra retail sales and employment opportunities for the one person with a well positioned food truck! So what if the trend is down at airports across the country! Gotta keep the faith!

  1. FWIW, and in all fairness, Columbus OH. is Columbus OH. after all.

My sister lived in a suburb for some 14 years. I once boarded an airplane in Orlando FL after walking about three-quarters of a mile from my car in the parking garage to the plane. After walking off the plane in Columbus I walked about 200 yards to where my sister was waiting and then we walked another 200 feet or so when we reached the door. From there I could see her car parked about three rows out, approx. 100 feet away. ;-)

The last time I was there Columbus still wasn't operating 24 hours. I think they're closed from midnight to 6 AM.

  2. Fritz_O,

I grew up in and around Spokane, WA. It has a population about 1/4th that of Columbus.

The last time I flew in to the "Spokane International Airport" I got off the plane and walked a short distance across the field. I walked through what could have been a hotel lobby, then walked outside to find my brother waiting for me in his car.

It wasn't hard to spot. If memory serves, there were no more than 3 parked out front, lol.
