There no economy at present here (in England): by taking holidays on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week, people can have an 11day break from work. (Good Friday; Easter Saturday, Sunday & Monday; the three days; Royal Wedding day holiday; Saturday, Sunday; May Day holiday.) And, oh joy, the working weeks immediately before and after your break would be only four-day weeks. How refreshing!
Whether this is inflationary or deflationary I can't say. But boy the roads are quiet.
They probably lost their way when the MIT billion prices project stopped posting country specific data. You only get an aggregate world index now.
Hmmm, I wonder if they would sell the country specific data to me if came with checkbook in hand?
dearieme,
My girlfriend is just now entering her 3rd consecutive year of work "breaks". Woohoo!
The economy: When it brakes, it poors.
Mr Slippery,
MIT put the USA specific data back. I'm guessing that the law of unintended consequences applies here.
Can you imagine how many conspiracy theories had been formed and how much email they must have been receiving asking if they could confirm or deny such theories? Hahaha!
