Moths for a Day?

Caterpillar 4Q profit tumbles; cautious outlook

Caterpillar said Wednesday that its fourth-quarter profit tumbled as demand remained weak, but the maker of mining and construction equipment expects sales to rebound in 2010 as the economy improves and dealers replace inventory.

Leading the way will be China and other developing countries where an increasing share of the company's yellow-and-black machinery is sold.

It seems the Italian debt peddling industry wants to end forever too:

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/minister-calls-for-law-to-force-italys-big-babies-to-grow-up-1871992.html

Is it me, or is this a shamefully veiled attempt to force more people into debt servitude?

And how about the dude's official title: Minister of "Innovation". Good grief, after all the misery caused by Wall St. "innovation", you think they could come up with a less offensive and obvious job description. I'm thinking even Minister of Debt Relief would be less Orwellian.

The debt peddling is our of hand. It reeks of desperation.

As I read your link I'm left with the same impression.

The governments can't stand people "doubling up" (moving in together to cut costs) when the whole system depends on them "doubling down" (taking on excessive risk in the casino).
