Kmart's Vision Quest (Musical Tribute)

February 17, 2016
Kmart to Offer Truly Brag-Worthy Deals Through New Sourcing Initiative

With an ongoing vision to make shopping fun again...

Swaying room as the music starts
Strangers making the most of the dark
Two by two their bodies become one

I see you through the smoky air
Can't you feel the weight of my stare?
You're so close but still a world away

The big retail news over here is that a major supermarket chain has decided to stop selling curved croissants. In future it'll only be straight croissants, so you can easily apply your jam with one single swish.

I suppose (adopts lordly tone) that the sort of people who put jam on a croissant are the sort of people keen to save milliseconds at breakfast.

Mind you, the straight croissant will be handy for illustrating a permanent high plateau. Or a permanently low trough.

I had to google image croissants as I had know idea that it would make any difference. I guess my croissantellect quotient is severely lacking. But then again, I'm also moderately surprised K-mart is still a going concern anytime I see a story about it.

know -> no (stupid autocorrect*)

*I spelled it wrong, I've just become accustomed to it automagically fixing my spelling and grammar errors so I blame technology.

I suppose, stagmark, that the prospect of negative interest rate policy is making you giggle.

From this morning's Telegraph: "[Brazil's] stagflation predicament is the stuff of bad dreams. Inflation has risen to ...almost 11%... output contracted by 3.8% last year, and is expected to fall a further 4% this year."

I wouldn't myself call that 'stagflation'. It's much worse; "inflationary depression" perhaps?

fudge_hend,

I shopped at Kmart recently. No, wait. It was Amazon.com. My bad.

dearieme,

I've been watching the Prime Minister's Questions from the British House of Commons on C-SPAN lately. I don't know why. Wait, yes I do. I figure I better keep on politics in case we actually stoop to electing Trump as we drift further towards Idiocracy. Sigh.

Watching PMQs? I suppose you are a consenting adult.

I didn't think I'd live to see an American Mussolini, but I was wrong; now we have Trump. Full of bombast, "national greatness" rhetoric, the promise to make the trains run on time ... but the trains never did run on time.
