Wage Growth Campaign

Campaign to drag up incomes over 20 years
CHINA'S President, Hu Jintao, has pledged to quadruple average Chinese incomes in just 20 years while amplifying previous commitments to a more equitable, clean and consumer-driven economy.

If only we could somehow get billions of people to drive automobiles. That would surely bring us untold prosperity. If only.

America, we need to get with the program. In order for China to achieve such growth we are going to need to transform ourselves into a nation of consumers and take on even more debt. No longer can we be thought of us a nation of savers. The world needs to understand that we can consume too, even if it means spending above our means. We can no longer rely on a negative savings rate to keep this global economy humming. We need to think in terms of a monumentally negative savings rate! Only then can we truly prosper!

8% compounded annual productivity growth at the very least? NFW. Don't even make fun of US consumers, this is just Chicomm lies to keep the masses in line until after the '08 Olympics.

Rob Dawg,

I suspect the masses aren't going to be very happy if/when the exponential growth ride begins to fizzle.
