Philadelphia becomes largest US city with casino
"I feel it. Today's going to be a good day. I'm going to win something," said Lucinda Clark, 70, as she sat down at a John Wayne-themed slot machine. "This is a beautiful place and it's a good thing for the city."
Cross your fingers for Lucinda. She's going to teach the casino a thing or two about easy profits before the day is through.
Board Chairman Gregory Fajt said he was excited about finally getting SugarHouse off the ground after all the delays, caused mainly by litigation from community protesters, government agencies and disgruntled bidders.
SugarHouse? Seriously?

Happy Thanksgiving!
It is a time to be thankful for all we have. Things could be worse!
Three More Years of Goldilocks? - Larry Kudlow, November 21, 2007
The song begins at the 2:25 mark. Sing along! I do.
Oh when you're down and looking for some cheering up
Then just head right on up to the candy mountain cave
When you get inside you'll find yourself a cheery land
Such a happy and joy filled and perky merry land

Well I gotta say I love "Casulties of War"! Great film, great scene.
I see sugar mountain has come back! That is old school IOP (your site)!
Try Sugar Mountain:

watchtower,
Perhaps I had the wrong musical tribute, lol.
San Diego Chicken Gets Plucked
GYSC,
It is such a happy and joy filled and perky merry land!
"Its a party, who's got the chips?"
No one will get that one!
GYSC,
As Gus Keller once said, "No milk, no cookies, nothing."
Has it really come down to this? Quoting the movies of the two Coreys?
Our economy must be truly doomed!
Back at you...
"What, you don't like rice? Tell me Michael, how could a billion Chinese people be wrong?"
Hint: Two Coreys + Keifer Sutherland + Jami Gertz
Stag,
That Kudlow is a piece of work. He never tires of being wrong - that's what makes him an "expert".
I rarely watch Kudlow, but I did the other day. He's basically saying that we should double down on the failed Bush eCONomic policies. If he wants to double down on a "sure thing" losing bet, he should use his own money and go to SugarHouse.
mab,
He never tires of being wrong - that's what makes him an "expert".
I'm thinking up a chart idea. The y-axis could represent the "tired factor" of being wrong. The x-axis could represent how much the expert is paid to offer opinions.
I bet there's a correlation there. For example, I'm not paid anything to offer opinions. If I was wrong far more often than I was right then I'd definitely stop posting OR require some form of monetary compensation. I'm no glutton for punishment!

That's hillarious.
I'm pretty certain your theory is spot on and that the correlation is near 1. But once again, being "right" about a theory just won't earn us any money. To earn money, we'd have to be wrong.
But it's actually more complicated. You see, in the new (e)CONomy, it's not enough just to be wrong. To be a highly paid "expert" one needs to be really wrong and really loud about being wrong. The experts make it look so easy.
I cannot beleive you got my reference! I feel like a "Lost Boy" in the face of your skillz. All I can say is "You're very beautiful, I offer 100 prayers for your safety. Find help in John 6:22, 8:16, 9:1; Luke 1:7, ....."
mab,
"To earn money, we'd have to be wrong."
Perhaps that's why Jim Cramer doesn't leave it up to chance. The lightning round offers opinions spread several seconds apart. If 50% are as wrong as a coin flip would be then we're talking seriously mad money here! ;)
Dang it! I am drawing a blank but I want to say 'Goldfinger'?
Weird, your post just vanished.
GYSC,
It would seem that my response should be...
“Bless you, 666.”
Who knew the complete written text of Red Dragon can be found online?
Back at you. This one could be very tough since I had to look for something Google couldn't find. So here goes...
"As yet, we have failed to discover how he transfers his gold overseas."
Hint: I would bet large sums of money that you both loved the movie and have seen it more than once.
(I accidentally posted before I had a chance to verify the quote a few times. It was spoken quickly and my first attempt was a bit off.)
GYSC,
Goldfinger it is! Nicely done! :)
And you even did it with a paraphrased original quote and not the real thing.
Here's the clip I pulled it from.
Goldfinger
Well I am talentd in all ways that are useless but you have to have skills!
Friday Night post up in a few! If I had a I-whatever we could do quote tests all night! Think how fun that would be! (try not to puke)
GYSC,
The only way I would ever win a game of trivial pursuit is if I could use Google!
My mind just doesn't seem to work that way. I head straight for the science questions in that game and then I am pretty much done.
I have a superpower that allows me to instantly forget anything that isn't important to me. I'd fight crime with it of course, but I can't ever seem to *remember* where I put the super hero tights, lol. ;)
Bender: I wanna be just like you. I figure all I need's a lobotomy and some tights!
Brian: You wear tights?
Andrew: No I don't wear tights, I wear the required uniform.
Brian: Tights.
Andrew: Shut up!
William Penn is rolling in his grave.
Interesting fellow. I bought a book on the colonial history of Pennsylvania since the wiki stuff on it was so fascinating.
Dude ended up in debtors prison while owning Pennsylvania free and clear.
Well, sorta, see, it was complicated.
Troy,
The wikipedia entry on William Penn is certainly fascinating.
