The following chart shows nonfinancial corporate debt securities and loans divided by M2 money stock.

For those who are predicting that the corporate bond bubble will soon pop, I offer my congratulations. Relative to the money supply, you've already won! Come collect your trophy!

That 2020 divot is not businesses paying things off. That's M2 growing by leaps and bounds.

If I wanted to offer disclaimers, I would have said that the award is a limited set of collectible NFT digital trophies. Limit 5 per household! Just $19.95 each! ;)

My generation doesn't do participation trophies.

In the late 1970s, I actually won a perfect attendance bowling trophy. Didn’t see it coming.

I had the high game and the high series. Only won the high game trophy though. The high series trophy went to someone else. The owner of the bowling alley felt it would be better to spread the trophies around. Didn’t see that coming either.

Ah, to be young and naive again. Good times. ;)

Just for fun, I searched for “Ah, to be young and naive again” and this popped up.

Wait, you’re shocked that a bourgeios government official f**ked off to a tropical paradise, while his constituents are freezing to death?

That’s adorable.

Hahaha!
