ETF Strategies For "Decoupling" In 2011
So I think investors want to do a couple of things. One, you want to leverage to that emerging market growth.
I'm trying to remember the last time I was told about decoupling strategies.

Alarm Bells Ring
The Pollyanna economists think it is all different now, a view espoused by the World Bank in its most recent report on East Asian economic growth. China is creating its own demand, “decoupling” from the US economy, it says.
Here's a chart of the decoupling and a video of the buckling.

Stag,
I believe it's called a condo CONversion. You know, they change the building from a high rise to a low rise. They use top-down CONstruction.
Often these deals make sense due to the lower "overhead".
mab,
Too funny!
Dumbwaiter (elevator)
The construction, operation and usage of dumbwaiters varies widely according to country.
"Wikipedia says the dumbwaiters within this building must vary WIDELY during operation! I don't care how it is done. Just do it!!" - Project Supervisor
They seem to have been buiding these towers with their ground floor beneath the water level in the neighbouring canal/river. That seems a bad idea to me.
dearieme,
"They seem to have been buiding these towers with their ground floor beneath the water level in the neighbouring canal/river. That seems a bad idea to me."
It is kind of hard to say. I can't imagine they wouldn't have thought of that, but then again the building is laying on its side right now. We have proof that they did not think of something. D'oh!
I'm thinking of investing in lumber futures, China apparently needs some 2"X4" stud bracing on the outside of their buildings.
Mark, you might want to run your "China bubble" search this evening. There's some juicy items from the Telegraph and a top 8 list from William Pesek.
watchtower,
LOL!
G.H.,
That Pesek title is priceless!
It showed up in my "William Pesek" search, lol.
Your telegraph one slipped past. It didn't actually say "china bubble" in it. It said "china credit bubble". So picky!
Great reads.
Blogger really thinks you are SPAM. Good grief. Maybe it is some sort of hint that we should all stock up on SPAM, lol.
It would be interesting to see if anyone would live in the adjacent buildings! I hope they plan on leveling everything (that would help the real estate bubble issue).
Anonymous,
When I bought my home in 1997 I told he real estate agent that I was looking for a house between 5 and 10 years old. I wanted modern conveniences but I also wanted to make sure I was buying a house that had some time for problems to become noticeable.
I think the collapse of an identical looking house right next to the one I was looking at might have put me off a bit, lol.
Speaking of disasters, we made it clear that we did not like the color mauve.
He managed to show us "The House of Mauve". He did a drive by at night and did not realize what the color scheme was.
The outside was painted mauve, all the carpets were mauve, the walls were mauve, the countertops were mauve, the bathtub was mauve, and so on. If there was a surface in that house, it was mauve. Everything.
He apologized profusely. No apology was needed though. It was way too funny for words!
