Foreclosure Bus (Musical Tribute)

Foreclosure Tour Bus

Realtors say providing tours of foreclosed homes such as this one is more than just a game of bargain hunting. It's also a way to educate prospective buyers and to help out the community.

In keeping with the 1970s theme, here's something from 1972.

Every day I get in the queue (Too much, the Magic Bus)
To get on the bus that takes me to you (Too much, the Magic Bus)
I'm so nervous, I just sit and smile (Too much, the Magic Bus)
Your house is only another mile (Too much, the Magic Bus)

Stag,

Here's a personal anecdote. I used to delay purchases of certain food items and especially gasoline as prices were rising. Even when I needed gasoline, I would only buy enough to fill the tank half way. It's odd that I acted this way as I've been predicting higher inflation for years. Recently though, I don't even hesitate to fill the tank with $4.00/gallon gas. Apparently, I no longer even expect short term pull backs in prices. Also, while I no longer delay certain purchases, I am absolutely cutting back on all unnecessary spending and driving. I just make do with less.

Without thinking about it, I've moved from hoarding cash to hoarding goods and decreasing demand. My standard of living is falling.

Not only did the US surrender a substantial lead, but in many respects our current standard of living is lower than the one our grandparents enjoyed. Sure we have a few more gadgets, larger televisions and more prevalent air conditioning, but the quality of life has actually declined.

As a software gamer, here's the good news. In the future, we really won't need to leave our homes. We can immerse ourselves in virtual worlds with plenty of simulated high quality life.

Hey fellow Rockstar Dani California MAB, got cheap plastic guitar? 'Cause I got the cheap plastic drums! ;)

In the future, fewer will be able to use the phrase "our homes." BTW, Philadelphia, PA is in the process of providing free wireless internet throughout the entire city. That makes should make living on a bridge abutment or in a hot water heater box much more enjoyable. Some of the Philly bums can really play!

Try this on your real guitar: Am, G, Dm, Am. That's the base line for Dani California.

Another fun base line is G, C, Am, D.

There's still a glimmer of hope though.

That movie was hillarious. I think we'll be hearing a lot about broken nest eggs for years to come.

I think we're witnessing the boldest experiment in real estate history - the borrowers give the the lenders the house back.

Very funny in that gallows humor way.

We obviously share a lot of the same interests and tastes in humor. That is one of my favorite movies of all time.

There are going to be a lot of people unable to use the word "nest" and "egg" in the future I suspect. Our casino's lucky number 22 isn't going to pay off enough times to appease everyone. It just doesn't seem possible.

That had to be my favorite/scariest part of the movie for me. She won on 22. He was excited. She wasn't so much. She continued. He grew concerned. DAMN! It really made me cringe, lol.

One wonders how much movies like that have altered my perception of the overall economy. Deep down we all know what truly scares us, and some of it is clearly based on reality.
