Perfect storm. We are replacing 12yo cars meant to last 8 years with 12 year cars that will last 16 years. At the same time prices are up, rates are up and miles demand is down. When we get rid of the old stock we hit a triple wall.

Rob Dawg,

For Sale: 10k Miles Driven per Capita Hats, slightly used, $1 or best offer.

Gallows humor. Sigh.

Maybe we can pay robots to make cars that crap out sooner.

Think of it as a clunkers for cash stimulus.

Might Running on Empty by Jackson Browne have been the appropriate song?

Yes! It's all in the artificial intelligence!

Problem

1. Create perfect eco-friendly cars.
2. Create true works of art.
3. Create cars that crap out sooner.

Solution

1. Use frozen water in place of fiberglass.
2. Sculpt the ice into sleek modern design.
3. Move manufacturing plant to Death Valley.

Luke Smith,

I've used that song in the past. I think it's appropriate for just about every post here! ;)
