Violence, pepper spray mar Black Friday shopping
The instant classic of the day was a video of an Arkansas melee over a $2 waffle iron. The shaky, 48-second clip shows a mass of squealing and shouting men, women and children climbing over each other, grabbing and tossing boxes, with one woman seemingly unaware that her pants were sliding down her backside.
"Oh my God!" a woman screamed in the only sentence discernible among the high-pitched shrieks. One person commenting on the video wrote: "The pinnacle of Western Civilization has arrived."

Now that's what I call having a hitch in your giddyup!
Perhaps she just wanted to be the butt of the $2 waffle iron joke. ;)
Mark,
Nice. Glad I didn't go out.
By the way, the Thanksgiving crowd was doom and gloom - I didn't have to censor a single comment. It was a bit shocking.
But I kind of missed the infernal struggle.

Audrey,
The contrarian part of me thinks that if the Thanksgiving crowd was doom and gloom then I should be either...
1. Optimistic (not at all doom and gloomy)
2. Apocalyptic (even more doom and gloomy)
Hmmm. I'm having a real hard time being optimistic here. It's just not in my nature to expect the most favorable outcome.
And on that happy note, what a great day this has been. Nothing bad happened on Wall Street today. I will grant you that the markets were closed though, lol. Sigh.

If she were standing up against a window, it would have been a "pressed ham."

I'm right there with you mark. I'm contrarian too and now that the gloomies are going mainstream, I have to choose a new road. So far I've been leaning towards upbeat and cheerily apocalyptic. Let's get it over with! I don't think I'll get my way. I think the bandaid will be pulled of reeaallllll slow.
That's prob for the best.

You want a cheerily apocalyptic road to follow? Done! ;)
