Median CPI: Resistible Force Meets Immovable Wall (Musical Tribute)

According to research from the Cleveland Fed, the Median CPI provides a better signal of the inflation trend than either the all-items CPI or the CPI excluding food and energy.

The following chart shows the quarterly change in the median CPI.

The resistible force (ZIRP) met the immovable wall in 2014:Q2. The wall held.

Mighty Fed, keep pushing on that string! Push on it! Something's bound to morph!

Weekend at Bernie's

Discovering that Bernie ordered their deaths to cover up his embezzlement with orders to not kill them if he is around, they attempt to convince people that Bernie is still alive.

Honest! The economy is doing nicely! Nothing to worry about!

Sigh.

I am so glad you are posting regularly again. Your sarcasm is a delight. Have you read this article?

It pretty much confirms your chart....As for James Dullard....he and others like him are nitwits. How do we get people like him off the Board?

I am 30 year Attorney living and working in St. Louis and all I see is economic devastation around me...

PS I am planning accordingly but its tough

midwesterngirl,

Enjoyed your link!

How do we get people like him off the Board?

Don't worry about it! The remaining obstacles can easily be overcome with determination, a positive attitude, QE, ZIRP, and additional sarcasm!

Bullard is just one person on the team! On his own, he's completely harmless! ;)

Oh I know he is completely harmless on his own...we're toast b/c they are all like him! This seems to be a worldwide phenomena. The US can take a leadership role to change policy....

Unfortunately we have no leaders :(

midwesterngirl,

Would you settle for a leadership roll?

"I was just really incredulous that this was a topic to be brought up at a City Hall meeting, much less have any truth to it," Brown said. "The number one emotion is embarrassment. We have a lot of good things going on in our little town, and this is the topic."

It seems more like a #2 emotion, lol. Sigh.
