NBC News: Labor Trade Off: Growth Slows, But the Quality of Jobs is Improving
"The vast majority of jobs are quite good," said Andrew Chamberlain, chief economist at Glassdoor.com. "From that perspective, yes, you could say this looked like the big job gains were in good jobs."
Yes, we should all be very pleased that not only did we not add any more low-paying retail trade jobs in April, we actually lost 3,100. This really improves the quality mix of the report.
If we're really lucky, perhaps we'll lose 100,000 retail trade jobs this month. Just think how prosperous the report will look then! One can only hope!
