During swallowing, the soft palate and the uvula move together to close off the nasopharynx, and prevent food from entering the nasal cavity.
These new-fangled Sears refrigerators must be designed with my uvula in mind. Call me old-fashioned, but I'm gonna pass. Hahaha!
The word we were probably looking for was palettes (varieties of colors). Instead, we got palates. Big difference! ;)
