US consumer borrowing hits another record in June

WASHINGTON — U.S. consumer borrowing hit another record in June, good news for the American economy.

I haven't seen a rash of news this good since I was diagnosed with Shingles in 2014.

People used to say that economic disasters happen when everyone who remembered the last one has died. But lots of people can still remember 2000 and 2008. How very odd.

dearieme,

Debt was a problem in 2008? Why aren't we being told? What is it that they are trying to hide?

Sounds fishy. The only thing I can remember from 2008 is being told how resilient our economy is. Is there something I am forgetting? ;)

In 2008 we had this thing called the middle class. They had lots of assets and stuff to fall back on in case of disaster. So yes, this disaster will be different. And number one on the hit parade will be strategic default. Unexpected.

Rob Dawg,

The middle class? Seems kind of barbaric. I'm glad we are moving to a modern two class system: affluent and not affluent.

I have found that any question you can answer with a single checkbox really simplifies things and therefore improves efficiency. I am therefore very optimistic about the future, lol. Sigh.
